Scarinish Bungalow Back
A large semi-detached bungalow in Scarinish, close to some of the many wonderful white sandy beaches and a few minutes walk from the small harbour and Scarinish Hotel.
Part of the stone built house where the Scarinish Post Office is located and within easy walking distance of An Iodhlann, which is a local museum, Royal Bank of Scotland, and a very well stocked Co-op. Surrounding you are local farm and wild life eg lambs and calves, hares, seals and even basking sharks. It’s very convenient for the east and west ends of the island and ten minutes or so gets you to most of the tourist spots on the island.
There is also a loft giving you the option of 4 or 6 people in two doubles and a twin.
Living Room – Comfortable room to chill out with a dram, watch TV or a DVD. There is an electric fire.
Kitchen/Dining Room –Electric cooker, microwave, large fridge-freezer, washing machine, all the small appliances you’ll need and a family dining table (seats 6) to enjoy your meals of Tiree’s local produce.
Sitting Room – A second comfortable room to do the opposite of whatever those in the living room are doing in peace. There is a TV and electric fire.
Double Bedroom – Large double with plenty room for clothes storage.
Twin Bedroom – Twin beds and clothes storage.
Bathroom with Shower – Walk-in shower (electric).
Double Bedroom – Double with plenty room for clothes storage.
FACILITIES AND SERVICES
All beds have pillows and duvets but pillowcases and bedsheets are not provided. You will need to bring sheets, duvet covers, pillowcases, towels and dish towels.
The property is centrally heated (night storage) and there is an electric fire in the lounge if additional heating is required. Due to the mild climate heating is only really required early/late in the season to take the chill off. All electricity use is included in the weekly rate.
There is free Wifi broadband and guests are welcome to use this.
DIRECTIONS TO THE HOUSE
When leaving the ferry drive for almost one mile until you come to a T-junction, turn left, drive past the Police Station and then the Post Office is the next building on the left, accessed via the cattle grid.
The ferry terminal is one mile from the house and the airport five miles.
OUTSIDE SPACE AND PARKING
There is a walled garden which gets the sun throughout the afternoon. The house is surrounded by an enclosing wall with ample parking.
