Skerry View is an extended, newly renovated four bedroom croft house with a large kitchen and dining area and a multi fule stove.

The house, set immediatley beside Balinoe Campsite, is situated around a quarter of a mile from the main road along a private gravel track that is well maintained and easily accessible. The house is set amidst crofting ground and enjoys views over the crofting landscape towards Skerryvore lighthouse on the west coast and towards the Treshinish islands off the east coast of Tiree. 

Bookings for 2016 are Sunday to Sunday.

ACCOMMODATION DESCRIPTION

GROUND FLOOR

  • Living Room - with sky freeview tv and DVD player.
  • Dining Room - seating for 8 around a large dining table.
  • Bathroom - with shower but no bath.
  • Double Bedroom - with one 5' double bed and sky freeview tv 
  • Hallway - with storage
  • Main Porch Entrance - with boot room
  • Side Porch Entrance - with boot room/pets area
  • Kitchen - a four ring electric cooker with main oven, top oven and electric grill, microwave, kettle, toaster, fridge, freezer, washing machine, condenser dryer, slow cooker.

FIRST FLOOR

  • Double Bedroom - with one 5' double bed.
  • Twin Bedroom - with two 3' single beds.
  • Bunk Bedroom - with a set of bunk beds.
  • Hallway -  with storage

Additionally the shared campsite facilities next door offer exterior water taps with hoses for washing down watersports gear and a large barn for storage of bikes and watersports equipment. The house has its own private gardens.

FACILITIES AND SERVICES

There is wifi broadband in the house available in the dining room area. For security you will be given a full set of keys for all ‘necessary’ doors and windows on arrival and an additional master set is retained at all times by us. Security is not generally an issue on the island but it is nice to ‘feel’ secure. Rubbish is uplifted by the Local Council from the end of the access track to the house every Tuesday. Further and more detailed information is available in the house with regard to waste disposal. The heating is in the house is via storage and panel heaters. Hot water is provided by an electric imersion tank.

The house has a phone line connection that allows for calls to be made and received but we would prefer that you do not use this as your primary form of communication and more as a backup for emergencies.

DIRECTIONS TO THE HOUSE

Turn left at top of pier road and follow signs for 'Campsite - 077121 59205' from Heylipol.

OUTSIDE SPACE AND PARKING

There is ample parking for up to three cars and room or more, if required. The house is set amidst crofting ground. Traffic accordingly is no issue for pets or young children and while the land is freely available for walking under the outdoor access code, we would ask you to respect that the grass in surrounding fields is largely grown and cropped from the beginning of May until the end of August.
