Tiree Heritage Society was established in 1984 and, following a revision
of its constitution in 1998, achieved charitable status.
Our aims are to:
- preserve and protect the heritage and traditions of the Isle of Tiree by
organising the preservation of sites and buildings or archaeological and
historical significance that have cultural relevance to Tiree
- to advance the education of the public in the use of the Gaelic language
by organising various activities which will encourage the growth and the
use of the Gaelic language and the strengthening of the Gaelic culture
We circulate a biannual letter to interested people under the heading of
'Friends of Tiree Chapels'. There is a £10.00 voluntary annual subscription,
but anyone interested can apply to receive the newsletter.
