The Waterhouse Back
The Waterhouse sits a few steps away from the stunning white sandy beach of Caolas with breathtaking views of Gunna,Coll and Mull this stunning modern house has been designed with luxury and comfort in mind we have also kept the house as eco friendly as possible with solar panels for the hot water and a heat pump which generates the hot water for the underfloor heating and a puraflow effulent treatment system, a wood burning stove and all lighting is LED fittings. The house is based on a traditional Hebridean longhouse and is finished to a very high standard , the house is positioned allowing you to sit and relax in comfort while enjoying the breathtaking views of the white sands and the wild life right in front of the house
It sits on the machair just a few yards from the beautiful, sheltered beaches of Caolas at the east end of the island. The picture windows and the decks have views over the waters of the Gunna Sound towards Coll and Mull, with Rhum and Canna visible to the North. For wildlife lovers there is an ever changing scene including wild flowers, birds, seals, basking sharks, hares and otters.
The Waterhouse is set in this quiet location, allowing you to enjoy the spectacular views over the machair and the sea. Access is via a track across the machair. The ferry and the shops of Scarinish are ten minutes away by car.
Tiled floor in the entrance, utility, dinning/kitchen and bathroom, bedrooms and lounge area are solid oak with underfloor heating.
Entrance Hall - with shelves, coat hooks and ample space for shoes/boots.
Utility Room - housing the air-recovery heat pump, utility worktop and sink with washing maching with a pulley overhead, microwave and a wine chiller
Kitchen/Dining/Double Height Living Room
Kitchen - a large modern well-equipped kitchen with granite worktops with a range style gas hob and a range style electric oven, large Miele fridge/freezer and dishwasher with a filter coffee machine and iron and ironing board
Dining Area - large handmade solid oak table (will seat six) and sliding door to the decking
Living Area - with wood burning stove and ample comfortable seating with picture window to the east and glazed door looking over the beach and the machair. 42” TV with dvd player with a selection of dvds, apple television for streaming films and surround sound system, wifi and Sonos music system. There is a extensive range of books and board games (kept under the stair cupboard)
Bathroom - with walk-in shower, basin and WC and bath with heated towel rail
Double Bedroom - with double bed with flat screen led television, with Sonos music system, stunning views from window
Twin Bedroom - with two single beds with flat screen led television, with Sonos music system, stunning views from the window
Oak staircase leading to master bedroom
Master Bedroom - with a bespoke handmade king-size bed with flat screen led television and Sonos music system and hair dryer with en-suite shower room with heated towel rail. Both rooms have stunning views from the velux windows
FACILITES AND SERVICES
Rental includes all bedding, towels (except beach towels) and electricity/gas. There is a land-line telephone for incoming calls only. Mobile phone reception availble on most networks
DIRECTIONS TO THE HOUSE
From the ferry turn right at the T junction and folow the signs for Gott. Turn right to go along Gott Bay immediately before the pink house. Pass the community turbine on your right and pass the signposted road for Milton. Take the left turn (to Miodar) and go over two cattle grids and take the grass track on the right immediately before the 3rd cattle grid to arrive at The Waterhouse.
OUTSIDE SPACE AND PARKING
There is space for two cars to park. There is a large deck on two sides of the house and a grass drying green. The ground in which the house stands is unfenced - it is open to the machair.
TRAVEL INSURANCE IS STRONGLY RECOMMENDED AS WE CANNOT BE HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR YOUR TRAVEL TO OR FROM THE WATERHOUSE DUE TO ANY UNFORSEEN CIRCUMSTANCES WHICH INCLUDES ANY SORT OF PANDEMIC; no refund will be given
