The Byre at Millhouse sits on the site of the Cornaigmore Mill and features the iconic water wheel and millpond. We offer hostel-style accommodation which can be adapted for single use and welcome both groups and individual travellers (please check availability before travel).
Pets will be considered when the building is in single let mode, but this MUST be discussed at time of booking.

GROUND FLOOR:
Entrance is via a welcome porch, which leads into an open-plan kitchen/dining/lounge area with two hobs, an oven, a microwave, a large fridge and a separate freezer. The dining area consists of a large dining table and there is a living space with sofa, chairs and a wide-screen TV. The private bedrooms are also on this floor, along with 2 shower cubicles and 2 WCs (one of which is suitable for assisted needs access). A well-equipped utility room and indoor drying area sits to the rear of the property and has a washing machine and wooden airers, together with exclusive access to an outdoor drying facility that includes a wetsuit rinse-off point and a wooden wet-suit rack.
FIRST FLOOR:
Two warm, well-lit rooms, with single beds, which can be adapted to include a double bed and/or additional seating areas. The rooms overlook the old mill, together with one of the best-known corncrake nesting grounds on the island. Black-out blinds allow for sleep during long summer nights, or, when open, star-gazing for the wakeful.
The Byre at Millhouse is close to the main beach breaks and next to Loch Bhasapol, home of Wild Diamond Watersports. Externally, a wooden wetsuit drying rack is provided, along with a dedicated drying area for the sole use of guests. There is a large car park and metal cycle stands for 8 bicycles. To the west of the building is an open-plan patio, accessed from the living area, which houses picnic tables and benches. Watch the sun go down over a outdoor evening meal, or enjoy a cup of Tiree Tea or Hebridean Coffee after some early morning tai chi by the millpond (instruction not provided!).
The above prices are for the whole building and include up to 10 people. Additional guests (up to 2) will be charged at £20 per person per night. For individual bed bookings, please contact us directly.
A cleaning fee of £190 is applicable to all bookings.
We operate a 3 night minimum stay policy for whole building lets. Longer stays (of more than 2 weeks) may be eligible for a discount.
Pets will be considered while building is in single let mode, but this MUST be discussed at time of booking. We operate a strict 'on lead' policy at all times whilst pets are outside of the building (including around the patio area).
There is ramped access to the ground floor accommodation. There are no steps once inside the building on the ground floor, although the shower cubicle's require a step up to access. There is one WC which is modified for wheelchair use. Externally, the car park area is cobbled, but a vehicle can be brought up to the concrete ramp at the door. We took part in an accessibility audit in 2023 which has informed our signage and lighting for 2024 amongst other things. If you feel able, do share any sensory/physical or other medical need you or a member of your party might have and we will do our best to adapt the accommodation accordingly.

From the ferry terminal, turn right and follow the road round the north of the island for 5 miles, passing Balephetrish Bay and into Cornaig.
From the airport, turn right at the end of the access road, and then left at the end of the road, beside Balephetrish Bay, and continue into Cornaig.
Large gravel parking area for the exclusive use of owners and accommodation users.
