Drovers is a Grade B listed Tiree thatched cottage, with thick granite walls and marram grass roof.
Drovers has been recently refurbished with sanded boards and exposed granite stone walls thoughout but with modern amenities added.
The price includes electric and WiFi
Entrance hallway- coat hooks and hallway cupboard.
Kitchen - fully equipped kitchen, electric built in oven, 2 ring ceramic hob, intergrated fridge (no freezer), intergrated dishwasher, microwave, toaster, and electric kettle. Towels, oven gloves, washing up liquid, soap, dishwasher tablets and kitchen roll are all provided plus some basic provisions.
Living room - with window to the front, multi-fuel stove, new storage heater, wi-fi, smart tv with freesat (including catch up channels), and built in DVD player, bluetooth speaker plus plenty of books, games and DVDs.
Bedroom - with window to the front, double bed with dual control electric blanket, hairdryer and new storage heater. All bedding is provided.
Bathroom - with window to the rear, privacy blind, tiled floor, new walk in shower, wash bowl and toilet, timed heated towel radiator. Two bath towels and hand towels are provided, plus bath mat, toilet rolls and soap.

There is private off-road parking in front of the cottage through the gate. There is also a garden benches at the front and back of the house with views over to Kenavara and Loch a’Phuill

From the ferry pier, follow the B8068 to Scarinish, continue to Crossapol and continue along the coast.
You will pass Island House and the road ends in a T junction. Take the right turn and continue on the B8065 (the immediate next left) to Heylipol. At Heylipol church, follow the road straight on and you will pass a small loch on the left hand side. Further along you’ll start to see the distinctive shape of Drovers.

The house was wonderful and was a great base for us to visit some of our favourite places on Tiree. The house had everything that we needed and Jill responded positively to any questions we had. We had a brilliant time walking, swimming and watching all the wild life.

Drovers was lovely in all respects. It had everything we needed, was very comfortable and central to get all around the island. We really enjoyed reading the information about the history of the house and island, reading novels set on Scottish Islands and also even completed the jigsaw - all from the bookcase in the house!

Drovers is such a magical wee place. I felt so at home there and would have stayed longer if I could.
Kitchen has all you need, great bathroom and excellent shower.
Bedroom extravagance was the electric blankets! So comfy.
Loved my stay.

Drovers was a smart, snug and almost unique thatched cottage - we only saw two other modern thatched 'black houses' on our island of Tiree. Very clean [not black; the old 'black houses' of long ago had no chimney, so smoke dispersed through the thatch], well equipped and perfect for a couple, Drovers was a good base from which to explore the lovely island. Talking to locals, it was well known; "Oh yes, you're at Drovers!". I was even directed to the owners car, by the local barista, which was parked outside his shop at the village of Scarinish. The benches outside Drovers let us watch the evening wild life, mainly small birds but also two Hen Harriers, and one night a big Otter made a noisy raid on the Lapwings nests!
Jill also warned us, very timely, to book the CalMac ferries for our popular Saturday sailings, as soon as the summer bookings opened online.

We had the most wonderful stay at Drovers Cottage. The location is idyllic, and the charming cottage (even more beautiful in real life) has everything you need for a cosy stay on Tiree. It was so peaceful and rejuvenating, after just one week, we feel like new people.
Thank you again Jill and Adrian for welcoming us, we hope to come back again soon.

Lovely peaceful location. Ideally situated in the almost centre of the island so that all locations were easily accessible by car.
Accommodation was very clean and the space well designed to maximise

Great cottage in Tiree. Nice and cosy inside with a fireplace. Well stocked little kitchen with all the cooking equipment you need. Also nice little extras like board games and DVDs. Overall a great stay and nice cosy cottage -

Drovers Cottage is just comfy and cosy and an amazing place to stay. Tiree is a little paradise and the cottage is like the cherry on top. I've rarely seen such a well equipped rental place, it has everything and more. The shower is amazing, really powerful and the bed invites to having a lie in.
I've already booked for next year and can't wait!

To sum up Drovers Cottage in one word, PERFECT
A traditional cottage outside with a tastefully modernised interior.
It may be small but it has everything you need especially the well equipped kitchen.
The kitchen even has a slow cooker. Ideal for an evening meal after one of the many walks on the Island.
I was lucky with the weather but the modern heating keeps the cottage nice and warm with the bonus of the multi fuel burner.
Storage space is limited but the bathroom is modern and spacious with a decent size shower.
The location is amazing if you are looking to relax and unwind.
So much wildlife in the adjoining fields and only a few minutes walk to the Loch, Sand Dunes and several Beaches.
Bike hire available 10 mins walk along the road.
I have stayed in a few fantastic properties but this is the only one I have rated 5 stars in all categories.

Our second visit and for sure not our last.
Jill and Adrian could not do more to make
your visit perfect. Loathed to admit just
how wonderful this cottage is, for fear we
will struggle to book it again in the future
What the cottage lacks in size it makes up
for in character - we absolutely adore it.
An added bonus this year was the
wonderful cakes from becky bakes - even
preparing gluten free
